No matter what’s trending in sneakers, whether it be Y2K-style shoes, “dad shoes,” the adidas Samba, or any one of seemingly a dozen other vibes, the Air Jordan 1 continues to be one of the most popular sneakers in our culture. There are a few reasons why that is, but for the sake of today’s Early Look post, we’ll talk about one very important factor that has contributed to the Jordan 1’s hype in recent years: brown-based colorways.

Jordan 1 High OG “Palomino”

The new ''Jordan 1 High OG Palomino'' is the latest of a long line of Jordan 1s to feature brown accenting, a design trait that started in a big way with Travis Scott’s original Jordan 1 collaboration in 2019, and continued with his “Dark Mocha” AJ1 Low later that year. Just like both of those releases, the “Palomino” is a very desirable shoe due to its versatility, and well, as we’ve seen time and time again, the color brown just looks sweet on Air Jordans. Word to the OG of the look: the Air Jordan 3 “Mocha.”

Here, the “Palomino” is designed in a similar way to both Scott’s collaborative colorway and the ''Jordan 1 High OG Dark Mocha'' from 2020, but with a few differences. The new release features Palomino-colored nubuck on the perforated toe, collar, heel, and Swoosh. Contrasting the look are black leather panels, black laces, and a black nylon tongue. Classic branding elements, including a black “Wings” logo on the collar and “Nike Air” logo in a color pop of yellow on the tongue, tie the look together.

The two-tone black-and-brown ''Jordan 1 Palomino'' is actually one of a few different sneakers that Nike and Jordan Brand will be releasing in the coming months with the Palomino brown hue. So if you’re digging this shoe, chances are you’ll find the Air Jordan 3 "Palomino" and the ''Nike Dunk High Palomino''bappealing.
